# Vietnam’s Fruit and Vegetable Exports Reach New Heights

On January 8, at the conference introducing the *International Exhibition on Technology for Fruit, Flower, and Vegetable Production and Processing (HortEx Vietnam 2025)*, Mr. Dang Phuc Nguyen, Secretary General of the Vietnam Fruit and Vegetable Association (VINAFRUIT), highlighted Vietnam’s remarkable progress in establishing itself as a leading exporter in Southeast Asia.

## Record-Breaking Export Performance in 2024

In 2024, Vietnam’s fruit and vegetable exports achieved an all-time high of **$7.2 billion**. Durians led the charge, contributing **$3.2 billion**, or approximately **45% of the total export revenue**. The surge in durian exports was driven by expanded market access, particularly in **China**, following the establishment of official export routes in late 2022. This milestone has positioned Vietnam as a formidable competitor in the global durian trade, outpacing other regional exporters.

## Ambitious Goals for the Future

Building on this success, Vietnam has set ambitious targets for its fruit and vegetable industry:

- **$8 billion** in export revenue by **2025**.
- **$10 billion** by **2030**.

These goals underscore Vietnam’s commitment to transforming its fruit and vegetable sector into a cornerstone of its economy, solidifying its position as a global leader in agricultural exports.
